Euro Truck sim 2 is mostly complete. American Truck Sim is just beginning (and got a slow start because they changed the world scale early on). So if you want to drive long distances and feel like a real long haul trucker, then Euro Truck Sim 2 (with all the DLC) is probably better. Both are really good, but ETS 2 has been out for far longer
But the map teams are separate. Nobody from the Euro map teams works on ATS and vice versa. Like I said, ETS2 map teams put alot more effort into their maps, new textures, new objects, are alot better at recreating the actual places meanwhile in ATS everything looks the same, just look at some texas pictures vs montana, not much difference.
